Mr. Vivek Mittal
CEO, Africa Infrastructure Development Association
Mr. Vivek Mittal has over thirty years of experience in the international energy and renewable energy sector, having straddled roles as lender, investor and developer on over sixty projects in twenty-five countries.
As the CEO of Africa Infrastructure Development Association (AfIDA), he has led the creation of the Catapult Accelerator for start-up developers of infra, and relevant training programs. The program currently hosts eleven first time developers from eight countries, working to raise and deploy $ 2.2 billion of investments with better outcomes in terms of speed, scale and quality of investments.
Prior to this role, he has promoted clean energy start-up IPPs in India, Sri Lanka, CEE and USA over fifteen years, and serves as the Independent Investment Committee Member on Crescent Capital’s clean energy fund - the first clean energy fund to focus on Turkey and South Eastern Europe. And between 93-06 he held senior project finance roles in International banks and corporates, including ING Bank, Enron Europe Limited, Edison Capital Europe Limited, and Bank of Scotland (HBOS plc).
He holds an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management and MSc (Tech) in Instrumentation from the Birla Institute of Technology in India. He lives with his wife and two children in London.
