Bridging the Gap for Women in Trade

Tuesday 8 October
07:30 - 08:30

It is estimated that women own more than 10 million of the world’s small and medium-sized enterprises. From food security and sustainability, to health and education, they are integral to boosting trade, economic growth and development, but remain cut off from global value chains. Across Africa women account for up to 70% of informal cross-border trade.

As Africa gears up to implement the Continental Free Trade Agreement, this breakfast seminar explores the main constraints on opportunities for women in trade, while exploring practical steps to removing them.
