AGRIBUSINESS: How to turn agriculture into money and sustainable growth?

Thursday 8 November
13:00 - 14:00

Agriculture is Africa’s largest economic sector, representing 15% of the continent’s total GDP and accounting for more than 20% of its annual economic growth. The African food market continues to grow, with World Bank estimates showing that it will be worth US$1 trillion by 2030. How does the agribusiness plan for Africa’s estimated population growth, and how does the businesses plan for the challenges made by climate change? How do we address the technological, policy, and institutional innovations required to raise agricultural land and labor productivity faster than has been the case to date?
