H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
Vice President of Ghana
His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was sworn in as Vice President of the Republic of Ghana in January 2017. Dr. Bawumia is an internationally renowned economist and banker; before entering politics, he served as a consultant and advisor to several institutions including the Economic Commission of Africa, the Central Bank of Sierra Leone and as Resident Representative of the African Development Bank for Zimbabwe. Dr. Bawumia served as the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 2006 to 2008. He holds a PhD in Economics from Simon Fraser University.
