EVP Financial Institutions, Norfund

Mr. Erik Sandersen is responsible for Norfund’s investments in financial institutions across Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America. He is a board member of the South Africa-based bank investment firm Arise and of the Nordic Microfinance Initiative. He joined Norfund in 2014 as an Investment Director in the Financial Institutions area and took over as Head of the investment area in 2016. Prior to joining Norfund, Mr. Sandersen worked 10 years as co-founder and partner in a venture capital firm in the Nordic region. He has also worked for the Boston Consulting Group in London and Oslo.

Mr. Sandersen has a Master’s degree in Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and an MBA from Stanford University.
